Original black and white photograph of the Palace of the Emir of Dhala, dated March 15, 1957. 7x9". Beautiful black and white photo depicting the weathered ancient Palace of the Emir in the Amirate of Dhala, Aden. Built into the bouldered landscape, the facade of the palace turret is constructed of the same textured rocks adorning the hillsides around it. In the foreground, a small calf forages amid the dry grasses while a line a royal guards stand watch on the opposite side of a stone wall. Some wrinkling to the bottom edge and right corner of the photograph., and some age related cracking to the top portion, neither affecting the clarity of the image. Otherwise in good condition.
