A Civil War epic soon criticized for its racial bias and glorification of the Ku Klux Klan. A spectacular inside page ad for the controversial film's opening is two columns wide and a full column long. Striking Headline "THE CLANSMAN - or - Birth Of A Nation...D.W. Griffith's Picture...Starting Today..." . Included in the same newspaper is an inside article on a separate page with bold headline surrounded by scrollwork reading, "LA Film Favorites In The Clansman...Practically Every Dollar Spent on Wonderful Picture Stays In This City". Column wide photos of a battle scene from the film. In very good condition.
