Photograph
[Film] Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown. Archive of 5 original vintage glossy photographs. 1997. All are 8" x 10" in color. Jackie Brown is Tarantino's third film and his only adapted screenplay, based on the novel Rum Punch by Elmore Leonard. The film is a tribute to the blaxploitation subgenre that emerged in the 1970s. The genre ranks among the first after the race films in the 1940s and 1960s in which black characters and communities are the protagonists and subjects of film and television, rather than sidekicks supportive characters, antagonists or victims of brutality. Tarantino cast Pam Grier, a blaxploitation star from the era, as his leading character Jackie Brown, which pays homage to her other films Coffy and Foxy Brown. The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster, Bridget Fonda, Robert De Niro and Michael Keaton, with Grier and Forster revitalizing their careers as a result of their performances. Photos feature images from the movie including of Jackson, Forster, De Niro and Grier. All photos are in very good condition.Item #19726
