Illustrated on the cover is an African American man in worker's overalls in front of a steamboat. 8vo; 96pp. A collection of poetry from the noted African-American poet DuBose Heyward, a series of poems broken into several chapters; "The Negro", "Skylines", "Horizons," and "Other Poems". Heyward was best known for his 1925 novel, Porgy, which was the basis for Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess. Minor wear to dust jacket, overall very good condition.Item #20250
