[African American] Two Trains Running play by August Wilson, the sixth in his ten-part series The Pittsburgh Cycle. The play takes place in Civil Rights era 1968 in the Hill District, an African-American neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pen. August Wilson depict a black urban class struggle in America, and the play's dialog spotlights 1960 Black American Culture. Vintage original poster, Los Angeles. Poster size 22 x 14″ The poster artwork was by Jeffrey Smith. The poster features artwork depicting Browne, Fishburne, and Chisholme.The main charachters are shown on the poster : Wolf (Anthony Chisholm), the numbers runner; Sterling (Larry Fishburne), a Young Turk fresh out of prison; Hambone (Sullivan Walker) the mentally troubled, and Holloway (Roscoe Lee Browne), the cafe’s philosopher.There were a few regional performances of the play including one at the Ahmanson at the Doolittle in Los Angeles. It ran only January 16 through March 29,[1992] and was directed by Lloyd Richards, who also directed, the plays Broadway debut. Laurence Fishburne won a Tony Award for "Outstanding Actor in a Play" for his portrayal of Sterling, and can be seen in the for front row of the poster. Very good condition and matted and Framed.
