[Women's Education] Diploma for female student at the Crouse-Irving Hospital School of Nursing. Syracuse, NY. 18 October, 1928. Kept in black cloth folder with gilt lettering that measures 6.5" x 4." Diploma certificate is awarded to "Louise Lowe McKeehan" and bears gold seal and school insignia. There are signatures from the President Board of Trustees, the Superintendent of Hospital, the Principal School of Nursing, and the President of Staff which validate this document. Founded in 1887 by a group of women, the Syracuse Training School for Nurses was the first hospital in the area that would admit women and children. This diploma is evidence of the school's long history of furthering women's education. Very good condition.Item #18922
