A visually rich and historically valuable album chronicling American military operations, daily life, and interactions with Japanese civilians in the immediate postwar period. Also includes many photos of Japanese laborers, construction workers, farmers, and children daily life and reconstruction efforts. The photographs provide an on-the-ground perspective of the occupation, capturing both structured military life and informal moments among enlisted men. Album is oblong quarto (approx. 10.5 x 15 inches), mahogany lacquered boards with an illustration of a Japanese village at the base of Mt. Fuji on covers.
