Photograph

Photo measures 5" x 7" and is mounted onto gray photographer's board measuring 8" x 10". from Nevada, with an inscription reading "Our Sparks + Henderson". Sparks and Henderson is referring to the two cities in Nevada, the "Silver State" which has an extensive history of mining operations. Photo depicts a group of 13 miners standing in front of a mining structure, including an elevated track, wooden buildings, smokestacks, and large rockpile. This tough looking group of men range in age from their 20s to their 50s, though there is possibly one child laborer pictured sitting off to the side of the main group. They wear simple cotton shirts underneath heavily worn overalls and bear smudges of dirt and dust on their face from all their time working underground. Some water staining to board, edges slightly worn, image has minor toning though in very good condition overall.
