Civil Rights in Piscataway. Piscataway Civil Rights Advisory Commission. [circa early 1970s] This scarce informational pamphlet was distributed by the Piscataway Civil Rights Advisory Commission, a group based in northern New Jersey whose purpose was to: "Make sure that every citizen of our Township has the equal rights he is guaranteed by law / Provide and effective way to correct any injustice due to race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, or age / Improve communication and understanding between citizens of all backgrounds." Verso states: "Your Civil Rights Include: Fair Housing / Equal Education / Recreation Facilities / Equal Employment Opportunities."
