Signed First Day Cover commemorating U.S. Air Mail, postmarked 1960, connecting one of the foundational eras of American aviation with the record-setting achievements of late twentieth-century experimental flight. Standard First Day Cover with illustrated cachet depicting the Liberty Bell and the slogan "Let Freedom Ring." The cover bears bold signatures from both Voyager pilots and retains its original patriotic cachet celebrating the development of U.S. Air Mail. Although produced to commemorate postal aviation, the addition of both autographs transforms the piece into a cross-generational artifact linking early federal airmail service with one of the last great aviation "firsts" of the twentieth century. Designed by Burt Rutan and piloted by Dick Rutan and Jeana Yeager, Voyager remained aloft for more than nine days on a single load of conventional aviation fuel, completing the first nonstop, non-refueled flight around the world in December 1986 and demonstrating the capabilities of lightweight composite aircraft in long-endurance flight. The achievement earned the 1986 Collier Trophy and remains a landmark in the history of experimental aviation.
