Book includes short autobiographies of prominent black historical figures including from the late Reconstruction days of Booker T. Washington, to the contemporary experiences of Richard Wright and Langston Hughes. Introduction reads: "In its novel approach the book opens up a new [perspective on the problems of interracial tension. As Mrs. Barton points out, prejudice may be a two-way process." A title and summary are pasted to the front free endpaper and pastedown. Ex-Library copy from Norwalk Public Library with stamp on title page and decimal number on spine. Underlining in pencil on fewer than ten pages. Bound in Green with complete gold lettering on spine. Textblock is tight and pages are very clean. Overall, in very good condition.
