[LGBTQ Film] Nijinsky was one of the first major studio films to center on a male homosexual relationship. Archive of 4 original, vintage photographs. 3 are in glossy silver gelatin black and white and one is in color. All measure about 8" x 10" and captioned, including."Paramount Pictures, 1980". Time Out London called the film "the first major studio film to center on a male homosexual relationship (albeit a doomed one) without being moralistic." The plot follows the later life and career of Vaslav Nijinsky, a male ballet dancer, and was based largely on the premier danseur's personal diaries. The film stars George de la Pena as Nijinsky and is the film debut for actor Jeremy Irons. Photos feature still images form the movie including of Nijinsky dancing and in several tender moments embracing Leslie Browne as Romola de Pulsky. All photos feature the title of the film, Paramount Pictures copyright, and other production information in the lower white margins. All in very good condition.Item #19966
