The autobiography of opthamologist turned tennis player Renee Richards, who was born Richard Raskin, and transitioned from male to female in the mid-70's. She successfully sued the U.S. Tennis Association to be able to play in the 1976 U.S. Open as a woman. On August 2, 2013, Richards was among the first class of inductees into the National Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame. Even so, Richards was one of the first athletes who advocated for the inclusion of transgender people within the sports world. Attractive unclipped dust jacket and bright pages, this autobiography is in very good condition.
