An original 19th century albumen photograph of two Japanese sumo wrestlers in starting position. 10.5" x 8.5" Mounted on split card. Minor loss of tone and contrast. Tastefully handpainted only on the cloths the wrestlers are wearing, as was typical of 19th century Japanese images. This image has an artful minimalistic quality. Overall condition good.
