Photo Archive

Motorcycle Racing Archive of 22 black and white silver gelatin photographs of early motorcycles racing from from the 1950s and 60s. All measure 3.5" x 3.5". Images mostly showing racers on their bikes, going around a circuit track with a body of water at center, likely Bryar Motorsports Park in Loudin, New Hampshire. The Loudin Classic is one of the oldest and most prestigious motorcycle races in the United States. Competitors have their racing numbers displayed on their bikes. Many of these photographs show one or two competitors approaching the lap line at high speeds, with some images also showing race officials dressed in white or spectators on the sidelines. One shows racers in gear preparing for the event. Another photograph shows two riders in classic 50's "greaser" style wearing leather jackets and cuffed jeans with their bikes on a city street. Another shows a racer riding on his bike through trees. Also included is a close-up of a parked Harley Davidson with "H-D" emblazoned on side. Overall very good condition. An archive which documents classic Americana scenes of motorcycle racing culture in the 50s and 60s.
