[African American] [Film] Laurence Fishburne in "Cornbread, Earl and Me" American International Pictures, 1975. Archive of 7 original vintage lobby cards. All are 11" x 14". Matte and in black and white with title in orange. Cornbread, Earl and Me is the debut film of Laurence Fishburne and is a coming-of-age story about three Black youths who play basketball together. While one is racing home in the rain, he's confused for a criminal and is fatally shot by police. The film culminates in a courtroom drama, where one youth expresses the truth. The film was produced by American International Pictures, which was known for producing various blaxploitation films despite this films emotional climax and straightforward drama plot. Film also stars Tierre Turner and Jamaal Wilkes and focuses on social injustices committed by the police, court systems, and other authority figures. Lobby cards feature still images from the movie including the climactic scene in the rain. The tagline at the top of the lobby cards reads: "We're gonna lick the world!" Additional production credits and PG rating are also featured at the bottom of the cards. White margins are clean. Overall, archive is in very good condition.
