[African American Photograph] Original 19th Cent. Carte de viste photograph of an African American woman finely dressed in a high-fashion coat with puffed sleeves and golden buttons. She wears an ornate straw hat with feather decoration, circa 1870. She is poised and the expression on her face exudes dignity and confidence. Albumen photo measures 4" x 2.5." Sepia tone; some fading, as expected with age. There are small stains present, most notably in bottom left corner. Very good condition.
