19th century original Cabinet card photo of a young African American woman, most likely from 1870s or 1880s, shortly following the emancipation of slaves and the 13th amendment. This picture captures the young woman staring starkly off-camera wearing a formal high-collared button-up dress and her hair done up in a style which was typical for African American women of the time. Measures 4.5" x 6.5" and Back of card reads: "C. Jackson's Old Reliable Gallery, 105 North Main Street. Hannibal, MO. and is in very good condition.Item #18648
