British counter culture screen printed poster. 1970s. Measures 22 x 16 inches. Bold red text reads "well! well well?" Source believed to be a left-wing London print shop. Poster shows a small black child leaning over a slashed American flag with the words "Rule Brittania!" across it. The British anthem was favored by punk bands throughout the 1970s and 80s who subverted the song's patriotic lyrics by setting them to anarchic chords. It's possible this poster was printed in protest of American imperialist policies which mirrored those of Great Britain. Vivid colors and striking image. Glue stains to verso. Light creasing.
