A Manual of Clinical Laboratory Methods by William Pepper, MD and Fred H. Klaer, MD. Circa 1949 Hardcover in red cloth and black lettering. Title on cover is Clinical Pathology. Interior subtitle states: For the Use of Third and Fourth Year Students of the Medical Department of the University of Pennsylvania. This medical student's manual is annotated throughout and has several tipped in clippings. Annotations are in pencil and include clues on the various tests and chemicals mentioned in the book. One annotation on the Occult Blood Test remarks: "Meat, iron, and watermelon (a.m.a.) interfere with O.B. tests and hence should be excluded from diet." Student's name appears to be "G.L. One tipped-in note is titled "An accurate method for the quantitative estimation of chlorides." The student has taken extensive but neat and legible notes in light red pen throughout the book. Some soiling on back cover but overall in very good condition.
