WWII War Effort Poster: Three arms, one woman's and two men's, raise their tools upwards

David Stone Martin. "Strong In The Strength of the Lord We Who Fight In The People's Cause Will Never Stop Until That Cause Is Won." US Government Printing Office, 1942. 40" x 28" inches. Three arms, one woman's and two men's, raise their instruments upwards. This poster promoted cooperation among various segments of the American society - woman, soldier, worker - in the WWII war effort. The war effort was an all-hands-on-deck initiative, in which women all over the country labored on shop floors to construct military equipment for the Allies. The government emphasized made the case to citizens to contribute to the war effort, whether it was buying war bonds or working on an assembly line. This piece of art was part of the push to inculcate a strong sense of a “home front” and the need for wartime discipline in all facets of life. The text of the poster is a quotation from a speech by Henry Wallace, then Vice-President, who ran for President on the Progressive Party ticket in 1948. Some bumping along edges of the matting but overall in very good condition.
