Broadside

SUFFRAGE BROADSIDE. 1917. Rare surviving suffrage broadside from 1917, announcing famed Canadian suffrage leader Flora MacDonald Dennison's speech at the Common Council Chamber. Dennison, a successful entrepreneur who ran a dressmaking shop and contributed a regular column to Toronto newspapers, helped Canadian women achieve national suffrage only 2 years later. Broadside is in fine condition. At the time that this description is being written, only two copies are recorded in American institutions. OCLC search results are at best an estimate and can vary over time.
