Gelatin silver photograph taken by Andy Warhol at a birthday celebration for model Jerry Hall held at Studio 54, the legendary Manhattan nightclub that functioned as a nexus of LGBTQ+ nightlife, celebrity culture, and late–twentieth-century art world exchange. Warhol, a central figure in the Pop Art movement, regularly documented the social scene of New York music, fashion, and queer performance culture, using his camera as both documentary instrument and source material for later silkscreen portraits. Images from Studio 54 capture downtown New York nightlife at the height of the post-Stonewall Club Kids era.

The photograph depicts Hall passing slices of birthday cake over her shoulder to Keith Richards, who distributes them to guests, while Whitney Tower Jr., heir to the Vanderbilt fortune, gestures playfully with a fork. Executed July 3, 1980, and dated on the verso. Gelatin silver print measuring approximately 8 x 10 inches.
