[Harmon Percy Marble] [Native American Photography] Photograph of Navajo family. American Southwest, circa 1920. Measures 5" x 7." Image depicts a Native American mother and her two daughters sitting on the ground, a horse standing in the background. Photographer Harmon Marble is most known for his extensive photography of Navajo, Hopi, Sioux, and Menominee. Captured during his tenure working for the Indian Service, Marble's pictures were sometimes poorly composed and printed. However, this lack of artistic sense led to a candid and honest portraiture of the indigenous population. This original photograph is sepia-toned and in very good condition.Item #18887
