Book of recipes - Compiled by Emily Emig of San Antonio, TX (born 1924). handwritten, typed, and printed from magazines and newspapers. Measures 8" x 6.5". Recipe book was likely made over a handful of years in her early adulthood and most recipes contained are typical American fare for the times with the majority being sweets & baked goods. Includes several variations of pound cake, cookies, fudge, and other sweets. Additionally has a crude & simple homemade beer recipe titled "Some Thing Good" using sugar, hops, and yeast. Many of these recipes reflect the resourcefulness of those who grew up during the Great Depression. Covers have chipping along spine and foredge, with some minor creasing throughout. Interior is moderately foxed, pages chipped with minimal paper loss. Overall in good condition.
