Steve Jobs, Apple

Original Photo

Lot of two original press photographs of Steve Jobs, one unveiling the first Macintosh computer, the second unveiling Apple's first portable computer the Apple IIc. The first photograph is of Steve Jobs wearing his signature 1980s bowtie, well before the black turtleneck, leaning on the first Macintosh at its initial unveiling to Apple's shareholders in Cupertino, California. The computer was priced at $2,495 and was Apple's first intervention in the battle against powerhouse IBM. Jan. 24, 1984. A young Steve Jobs leans his elbows on the Macintosh and gestures with his hands, smiling to the left of the camera. Condition is very good, with handwritten notations on the white margin outside of the image. The second photograph is a press photo released in 1993 showing an April 1984 photo of Jobs, Apple CEO John Sculley, and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak unveiling the Apple IIc, Apple's first portable computer. Press release speaks of Sculley's stepping down from his CEO position. Jun. 18, 1993. Condition is very good, with one handwritten notation on the white margin outside of the image, "97% 6A." This was used for sizing the photo in the print article. Both press photos have a printed caption from the Associate Press describing the images. These two historic photos show Steve Jobs toward the beginning of Apple's rise.
