Pamphlet

Sozialdemokratischen Partei Deutschlands. German Social Democratic Party Newsletter: London,1939-1946. Consist of 34 original war date issues of the Anti Hitler and Anti Nazi mimeographed newsletter, Beneath the text title of each issue reads, "This news-letter is published for the information of Social Democratic refugees from Germany who are opposing dictatorship of any kind." varying lengths and formats. Measuring about 6.5 x 8 inches. Text mainly in German with some explanatory blurbs in English on each issue. In one issue dated May 2nd, 1940, the text reads, "We protest against Hitler's new crime. Once again a brutal attack has been made; two nations are suffering from a criminal descent of the military forces of the Hitler government. Denmark has been obliged to capitulate in the face of the Hitlerian threats of destruction. Norway is gallantly defending her freedom and resisting the invaders. In both countries social-democratically led governments have laboured at the peaceful encouragement of their peoples' prosperity; they have openly testified to their pacific principles and have formed their policies accordingly. Nothing was further from their thoughts than any recourse to force."
