Archive of documents and ephemera related to the French Liberation movement during World War II. 1944-45. 6 unique items ranging in measurement from 10 x 7 to 4 x 3 inches. All items in French. This archive includes National Liberation Movement Manifesto which reads in part, "as today intends tomorrow as today to continue its action, according to these three main ideas, popular sovereignty, social justice, national independence." Includes membership card for the French Freedom Fighters printed on polychrome cardboard with stunning illustration of a winged woman warrior raising an arm to rally her troops. A color printed document titled " Promotion Jean Moulin" Jean Moulin was a resistant fighter who played a leading part in the organization of the Maquis (French guerrillas who fought the Germans) and in the development of the National Council of the Résistance. as the document states Moulin was "assassinated by the German" the document is a blank membership form for those who support Jean Moulin and "all those that fell like him for the fight and the cause of Liberty.." Another document is titled " What it cost France " and list the cost of the occupation of France by the Germans in WWII. Includes transcript of a radio address by Commander Vaillant on the French Liberation. Also Includes 2 tracts and a songbook with the music and lyrics for "Those of the Maquis," which reads, in part, "Those of the maquis are those of the marquis those of the resistance are those of the maquis fighting for France braving the cold braving the hunger defying the horrible slavery." Songbook with illustration on cover of men singing beneath the banner of the French flag. Light toning does not affect images or texts. Manifesto is split where folded along center seams. All items in the archive are in very good condition.
