Holloway House was a publishing imprint of Kensington in operation from the 1960s until 2008 and best known for its proliferation of novels like this one that fall into the pop cultural subgenre of blaxploitation. The term describes work that relies on racial stereotypes for its plot points, although it is often embraced by African American pop culture. Holloway House was beloved by artists like Dave Chapelle and Ice T for being a "culturally authentic" part of the "black literary underground" (Black Perspectives). Many of these works use the form as a vehicle for cultural criticism. Light sunning to front and back covers. Textblock clean and tight. Overall good condition.
