The Vassar Brothers Institute was founded by the nephews of Mathew Vassar, founder of Vassar College, as an organization to continue the educational society of science associated with the college. The Institute is still at work today promoting scientific research and discussion. This volume includes lecture transcripts titled "Chemistry and the Question of Life" and "Are Other Worlds Inhabited?" and others. An incisive look at topics of scientific interest at the end of the 19th century. Front cover detached, and back cover detached and missing. Texblock clean and tight.
