Bomba the Jungle Boy: Among the Slaves

First Edition

Rockwood, Roy. Bomba The Jungle Boy: Among the Slaves. First edition. New York: Cupples and Leon Company, 1929. 7.5" x 5.25" inches. 210 pages. This installation of the Bomba, the Jungle Boy series sees its hero in the Amerindian jungles, tangling with a wild band of Native peoples and jungle predators. These novels were written under the pseudonym Roy Rockwood, but were actually produced by the Stratemeyer Syndicate, the publishing company that produced a number of mystery book series for children, including Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and more. Bomba is enslaved by a Native tribe, the Araks, but is able to unify and embolden its slaves and make a successful escape. Corners rubbed and pages toned, but overall in very good condition.
