Letter from GI and an original Safe Conduct pass from World War II. Letter: 8.5" x 11" inches, 3 pages. Safe Conduct Pass: 5.25" x 8.5" inches. A safe conduct pass was a surrender pass for German soldiers, dropped over German lines. In part, "... The German soldier who carries this safe conduct is using it as a sign of his genuine wish to give himself up. He is to be disarmed, to be well looked after, to receive food and medical attention as required, and to be removed from the danger zone as soon as possible..." With a printed signature of Eisenhower., then Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force. The safe conduct pass is in very good condition, with quarter folds and some minor toning on the back side.
