Publisher's red morocco, all edges gilt, with a concealed "vanishing" fore-edge of Yale College from New Haven Green. 7 x 4 5/8 inches; 621 pages. In this "concealed" style, an image is painted on to the ‘stepped’ incline of the pages that disappears when it’s flat; the fore-edge painting is only revealed when the pages are fanned. Light wear, some minor separation at joints. Contemporary ownership signature dated November 4th 1862 on front free endpaper. In very good condition.Item #17261
