Hugo was a Jesuit priest-- Jesuit education included the military arts-- and he describes the nobility of the mounted soldier from antiquity to 1630, using earlier technical works on cavalry by Wallhausen and Melzo as well as contmeporary commentaries on classical texts by Lipsius and others. Beautifully rebound, binding secure. Pages are clean and show only expected age-related toning and some wear to edges. Overall in very good condition, particularly for a piece of this age.
