Naser al-Din Shah Qajar. King of Persia. Original albumen carte-de-viste CDV photograph. c. 1860-1870. By Makzamoff, after unknown artist. Naser al-Din Shah was the first shah to have his picture taken and was very interested in the new medium of Photography. Image depicts the Shah seated confidently in full royal uniform, including elaborate jewelry on his jacket and headgear, with his jewel encrusted sword prominently displayed. Naser al-Din Shah was the Shah of Qajar Iran from September 5, 1848 until his assassination on May 1, 1896. Light foxing. 1/8" closed tear along bottom right edge. In very good to good condition.Item #17133
