Promoting Racial Equality

Pamphlet

[African American] Robert Minor. “Tell The People How Ben Davis Was Elected”. New York: New Century Publishers, 1946. 24 pages, slim octavo. This pamphlet with Photo-illustrated wrappers, separated from text with small triangular tear to rear wrapper. Very good condition. This pamphlet outlines the benefits of promoting racial equality and parity in representation, via the Communist Party and its work in using Ben Davis as a model example. Davis was elected to the New York City Council and was an active leader in the local Communist Party. An important document which shows the shared concerns of two overlapping racial and political movements in post-WWII, pre-Cold War America.
