TLS : Typed Letter Signed

Women's suffrage group dedicated to the legal pursuit of women's voting in Great Britain. 1 page Typed Letter signed on " New Constitutional Society for Women's Suffrage" letterhead, including the names of lead members, and dated January 1918. Writing from London, Mary Wake expresses "the greatest joy and satisfaction...on the recent triumph in the House of Lords - Although not yet actully on the Statute Book, we can for the first time regard women's suffrage as practically fait accompli." Yet she acknowledges that in the fight for equality at home and abroad, "much work in the women's movement yet remains to be done." Excellent content regarding both the gain of women's suffrage and the call to grow women's access to legal and social rights. Some minor age related toning. In overall very good condition.
