Pair of Stereoviews depicting life in Istanbul, c. 1910
Photograph
Pair of sepia toned stereoviews measuring 3.5x7", circa 1910. The first presents design artists working meticulously on the patterns of a faded Persian rug in a shop in Istanbul. Two artisans, likely a father and son, crouch on the rug with their tools in the foreground while a small child sleeps against a pile of finished rugs in the background. It is copyrighted Keystone View Company. In the second stereoview, men and women wander through a public square, some in traditional draped robes and others in modern suits. Both in very good condition.Item #14788
