In 1834, he traveled to Egypt and Syria. On his return to New York he published in 1837 (under the name of George Stephens) Incidents of Travel in Egypt, Arabia Petraea, and the Holy Land. The bindings are fairly tight on both books with some foxing present on pages; surface soiling on the boards with slight rubbing to the spines. Overall in good condition.
