Early set of horse engraved plates from Historiae Naturalis by John Jonston, printed in 1665. Overall size is 15" x 9". Engravings by Matthaeus Merian. The Latin names for the horses appear above each image. The four images each depict a horse in a majestic pose. Some light markings. Three ¼-inch tears on the edges, and light bending. Overall in very good condition.
